Diversificação Agropecuária: Conceitos E Estatísticas No Brasil

Abstract

Uma forma de reduzir incertezas da produção e obter economia de escopo é por meio do emprego da diversificação de atividades, que pode ser entendida por diferentes conceitos e abordagens. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar arcabouço teórico e empírico da diversificação agropecuária no Brasil, utilizando abordagens socioeconômica e agronômica. Além disso, apresenta-se as possíveis formas de diversificação agropecuária, ressaltando sua importância ambiental e econômica. Para isso, apresenta-se a evolução da produção agropecuária municipal a partir de dois índices: Shannon e Simpson, no período1987-2017. Os resultados revelam tendência à especialização de culturas, especialmente na região Centro-Oeste. No entanto, a produção agropecuária municipal ainda se encontra na categoria “diversificada” nesse período. Os estabelecimentos acima de 1000 hectares têm uma relação negativa com a diversificação agropecuária, contrária aos estabelecimentos entre 0 a 50 hectares da região Sul e Centro-Oeste.
