Diuron

“…Among the species found, the most significant compounds are phthalic acid esters, widely used as plasticizers, namely, di-iso-octyl phthalate (DiOP), di-isobutyl phthalate (DiBP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and diethyl phthalate (DEP). These compounds are related to the presence of plastics as they are widely used during processing stages for softening, increasing flexibility, or elasticity and, thus, produced industrially in high volume . Since plasticizers are only physically bound to the matrix they are able to easily enter in the environment with volatilization identified as the major pathway for their release, and many are found ubiquitously .…”

“…In general, phthalic acid is used to produce phthalate ester in certain industries (Graham, 1973). According to Heise and Litz (2004), phthalates ester is mainly used as additives in plastic production and is known as a plasticizer.…”

“…The function of plasticizer in plastic production is as a mixture in order to optimize the properties of the resulting plastic obtained in term of flexibility and elasticity (Heise and Litz, 2004). Based on this result, it is strongly expected that biomass oil has great potential along with Phthalic acid, 2-ethylhexyltridecyl for future use in a bio-based plastic industry.…”
