Diterpenoids From the Argentine and Malaysian Liverworts Anastrophyllum and Jungermannia Species

Abstract

We are engaged in the ongoing investigation into the chemical constituents of liverworts in our search for novel compounds and biologically active substances. In the present study, two new rosane diterpenoids were isolated from the Argentine liverwort Anastrophyllum species, together with known aromadendrane sesqui-and rosane diterpenoids. Two new entkaurene and 4 entkaurene diterpenoids were isolated from the Malaysian liverwort Jungermannia species. Their structures were determined using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy techniques, circular dichroism spectroscopy, and chemical transformation.
