Disturbance‐observer‐based speed control for SPMSM drives using modified super‐twisting algorithm and extended state observer

Yong‐Chao Liu,
Salah Laghrouche,
Daniel Depernet
et al.

Abstract: To address the robust speed control problem of the surface‐mounted permanent‐magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) drive, a novel composite speed controller (CSC) is proposed, which consists of the modified super‐twisting sliding‐mode SC (STSM‐SC) and the extended state observer (ESO). Regarding the motion dynamics of the SPMSM drive, the unmodeled dynamics, endogenous, and exogenous disturbances are lumped together as the total disturbance. The ESO‐based feedforward compensation mechanism is used to deal with the … Show more

Based on (14), the introduction of the integral term can effectively a enuate the ji er and eliminate the static error of the system. However, there is still a sign function with poor smoothing performance near the sliding mode surface in the control law.…”

“…Versatile in application, PEMFCs are employed in diverse fields, including mobile devices, distributed power stations, and automobiles, with notable implementations in fuel cell or fuel cell-based hybrid vehicles like Mirai and Citaro, where the fuel cell-fed DC/AC traction drive system is used [9][10][11][12]. Rapid advancements have been made in advanced AC electric motor control algorithms in recent years, leading to a significant maturation of motor control strategies in these vehicles [12][13][14][15][16][17]. These developments in AC electric motor technology have been instrumental in enhancing the performance and efficiency of fuel cell or fuel cell-based hybrid vehicles, contributing to their increasing viability in the market.…”

“…Conventional speed control methods for switched reluctance machines based on linear controllers perform adequately in many applications but face limitations, such as variations in machine parameters. To overcome these challenges and enhance precision, numerous innovative nonlinear control strategies have been proposed over the years [27]. Among these methods, Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) excels at handling uncertainties and variations in machine parameters.…”
