Disturbance-Observer-Based Adaptive Fuzzy Control for Islanded Distributed Energy Resource Systems

Abstract: With the aim to improve the antidisturbance ability of the islanded distributed energy resource (DER) systems, a disturbance-observer-based adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control (DAFSC) voltage controller is designed based on indirect vector control, which implements the voltage tracking and improves the self-regulation ability of the islanded DER systems. Firstly, the circuit diagram and the mathematical model of the DER system are presented. Then, the second-order sliding mode differentiator is designed to sol… Show more

“…The controller takes about 7 ms to attain a new reference value. In [17], a new observer-based adaptive fuzzy logic control is used, which gives a response time of about 1 ms to attain a new reference value, which is faster, but implementing this control technique is quite complex, as it involves the design and tuning of fuzzy logic as well as the observer, which makes it difficult for complex systems. In [18], a unified digital control logic is used for controlling NIBC, which is based on a dual voltage system and has a slower transient response.…”

“…Intelligent control techniques have been applied as well, but require training procedures (and the tuning of training parameters is difficult). Adaptive fuzzy control [47] has been applied for microgrid voltage control. Neural network and fuzzy logic-based control schemes [48] have been applied for microgrid voltage control and energy management.…”

“…Integrated energy system includes the production, use, and transmission of di erent types of energy, including many conventional energy subsystems, such as natural gas system and traditional power system, as well as new energy generation systems, such as geothermal power generation and wind power generation [1][2][3][4][5]. e integrated energy system can realize the comprehensive utilization of di erent types of energy, reduce the problems in energy supply, reduce the number of energy conversion, and reduce environmental pollution.…”

“…e integrated energy system can realize the comprehensive utilization of di erent types of energy, reduce the problems in energy supply, reduce the number of energy conversion, and reduce environmental pollution. It can not only meet people's demand for electricity, but also realize many other services, such as refrigeration and heating, so as to realize the cascade use of energy; improve energy e ciency; and promote the sustainable development of society, market economy, and energy [4]. However, there are many subsystems in the integrated energy system, and the operation mode and functional characteristics of these subsystems are also very di erent.…”
