The Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands as one of the provinces in the form of an archipelago has a number of islands that have the potential to be developed, including Bangka Island. The coastal areas on Bangka Island have similar environmental conditions, namely environmental problems due to illegal tin mining. However, the environmental conditions in each of these coastal areas have not been well mapped. Therefore, this study aims to map the environmental conditions in the coastal area of Bangka Island. This study uses a qualitative approach by describing the environmental conditions of the coastal area on the island of Bangka in-detail and in-depth. In addition, this research also communicates directly with informants or officers at the Marine and Fisheries Service and village government officials in the coastal area in question to explore in-depth information. Furthermore, this research data was also obtained from direct observation at the location of the coastal area on the island of Bangka. Through this approach, it is hoped that an overview and understanding of the environmental conditions in coastal areas on Bangka Island can be obtained and how to manage and utilize the potential that has been carried out to improve environmental quality.

Mangrove forests are an important natural resource in providing ecosystem and ecological services as a nature-based solution for coastal protection, including on Lepar Island. This research aims to analyze the composition of mangrove species and the mangrove health index on Lepar Island. The field data collection method uses a systematic sampling method. Analysis of mangrove community structure uses the Shannon-Weiner index, while analysis of mangrove density and canopy cover uses the hemispherical photography method. The research results show 11 species from 5 mangrove families are found on Lepar Island. The Importance Value Index at the four stations varied sequentially, namely Sonneratia alba (158.84%), Bruguiera gymnorrhiza (202.88%), Ceriops tagal (110.42%), and Rhizophora apiculata (300%). Density is generally in the sparse category, and canopy cover is in the good category. The mangrove health index at station 1 (51.83%) is in the medium category, while other stations show the MHI value of <33.33% or in the poor category. Mangroves have some benefits for humans and the surrounding ecosystem, such as preventing ecosystem degradation and climate change. Therefore, mangroves need to be preserved and monitored.

With the passage of time and the tide of globalization, the city of Muntok has witnessed significant development. However, studies of Muntok relating to political changes in the last 10 years are still uncommon. This study focuses on the impact of political globalization on the interaction of Chinese and Malay ethnic communities in Muntok, Bangka. This study used qualitative approach with a literature or library study methodologies. According to the findings of the study, political globalization has the following effects: 1) increasing the use of public rights votes in general elections; 2) increasing the public vote of ethnic Chinese and Malay in political elections; and 3) increasing the involvement of Malaysians and Chinese in public elections because globalization does not arrange the vote for Chinese people. Many Malay people also choose the Tionghoa people. Finally, 4) there was a balance in the regional government in Muntok Bangka West between 2016 and 2019 (H. Parhan Ali (Malay ethnic) as Bupati and Markus (Tionghoa) as Deputy Bupati) and 2021–2026 (H. Sukirman as Bupati and Bong Ming Ming (Tionghoa) as Deputy Bupati). In conclusion, the significance of political globalization for the Muntok Bangka society is favorably evaluated, and the consequences of ethnic misunderstanding because of the Muntok society’s political globalization can be developed in historical learning material.
