Distribution of Ascariosis and Asophagostomosis of Pigs in Central Yakutia

Abstract

Purpose of research: To study the spread of ascariosis and esophagostomosis of pigs in industrial pig breeding and in farms of various types in Central Yakutia. Materials and methods: The study of the species composition of pathogens and the spread of intestinal nematodes was carried out in 2001-2004. In industrial pig farm and subsidiary plots pigs were tested for infection helminthological diseases. For this, a saturated solution of sodium chloride was prepared (400-420 g of sodium chloride per 1 L of boiling water. 3 g of faeces were weighed according to a sample, which were placed in a glass with a capacity of 50 ml, were poured with a small amount of a saturated solution of sodium chloride and stirred. 3 drops were removed from the film surface with a metal loop, transferred to a glass slide and examined under a microscope with low magnification. A total of 1236 samples of pig feces were examined, including 262 young animals from 2 to 4 months and 974 adult pigs. Results and discussion: The pigs of Yakutia are parasitized by 2 types of nematodes: Ascaris suum, Oesophagostomum dentatum.
