Distribution and ecological risk assessment of 7 heavy metals in urban forest soils in Changsha City

Abstract: In order to understand the influence of urbanization on distribution of heavy metals in soils, concentrations characteristics of 7 heavy metals (Zn, Cu, Ni, Pb, As, Cd, and Hg) in various forest types were investigated along an urban gradient in Changsha, a capital city of Hunan Province, China. The concentrations and potential ecological risk of heavy metals in the urban soils was assessed when compared to the background values of heavy metals in soils in both Changsha city and Hunan Province. A total ninetee… Show more

“…In collected tailings soil samples, the content of Cd reached 64.3 ± 5.5 mg kg − 1 , it is the 869 times more than soil background value in Hunan. Where the Sb reached up to 11,753.0 ± 176.1 mg kg − 1 (Li 2020), which pollution content exceeded the background value of Hunan soil 10685 times (Fang et al 2012). The collected samples were ltrated by a 100-mesh sieve after mixing evenly, loaded in a 50 ml centrifugal tube, and stored at 4 ℃.…”
