Distributed Secondary Control and Management of Islanded Microgrids via Dynamic Weights

Abstract: The averaging algorithm for consensus is widely used as a distributed secondary method for the control and management of microgrids. However, during each iteration it may break the system balance obtained by the primary control. In this paper, a distributed and networked method for the control and management of islanded microgrids is proposed, in which there is an agent based communication network as the top layer over a microgrid as the bottom layer. Further, a systematic method is presented to derive a set o… Show more

“…The latter topic is also addressed in [247]. In [129], dynamic weights are reassigned to reach different targets. It is claimed that the strategy discussed in [129] could enhance the stability of the system, achieving a better dynamic response.…”

“…Dissipated Control architecture has been used for control and power management of microgrids including DG units and ESSs [14], [15]. In [25], the nonlinear dynamics of the DG units are relaxed using the feedback linearization method into linear dynamics and the conventional into linear secondary control system is altered to initiate the distributed secondary control level on the basis of a first-order tracking synchronization problem, to provide voltage/frequency control and real/reactive power sharing.…”

“…For ER based ADN, more requirements should be raised by the source-load interaction for fast response and scalability. For a distributed control strategy suitable for ER based network, three kinds of algorithm are typically employed: averaging consensus algorithm [21], [22], maximum and minimum consensus algorithm [23]. Zhang and Li [24] put forward a biased minimum consensus algorithm suitable for multiple nodes for the optimal routing path, and a complex maze is employed to verify its correctness.…”
