Distributed coding/modulation scheme with OFDM/OQAM based transmission for wireless cooperative relays systems

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a distributed coding/modulation scheme for wireless broadcast networks with relays. We consider a scenario where a source communicates with a single destination assisted by a relay which aids transmission to the destination. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission is considered where the available bandwidth is allocated simultaneously to the source and the relay. Real value data symbols are transmitted by the source. The relay decodes the information from the so… Show more

“…The Filter Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC) based systems combined with Offset Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (OQAM) [1][2][3][4][5] are gaining appeal to be the favorite to become the radio waveform in forthcoming fifth Generation (5G) physical layer [6]. This advanced modulation scheme offers lots of advantages such as excellent frequency localization [7,8], low side lobes in its PSD (Power Spectral Density), robustness to phase noise and frequency offsets making it more suitable than OFDM for 5G [9].…”
