Distributed Bragg Reflector Designs for the Shortwave Infrared with Complex Active Layers

Abstract: We demonstrate a novel approach to designing a distributed Bragg reflector consisting of a complex-index material (i.e., gold and VO2). The field enhancement is used to reduce the optical limiting threshold and increase nonlinearity.
