Distribuição de hidrocarbonetos policíclicos aromáticos e alifáticos em sedimentos estuarinos / Distribution of aliphatic and polycyclic aromatics hydrocarbons in estuary sediments

Show more

“…In this matrix, the concentration of total alkanes varied from 188.8 µg Kg -1 (PA point, sampling C2) to 8825.09 µg Kg -1 (PC point, sampling C4). These data are below values found in sediments from several polluted regions of the world such as India, where the concentration of 107800 µg Kg -1 has been quantified in sediments (Behera et al, 2023) (Mizukawa et al, 2015).…”

“…During these events, the flow of maritime vehicles tends to increase, with traffic heading to beaches, islands and other tourist regions, primarily polluting surface water. Furthermore, continental activities involving transport and vehicle flow, industrial and domestic anthropogenic activities from this period may also have contributed to the alkane concentration indices in the resulting months, via surface runoff (Mizukawa et al, 2015). Finally, the influence of the resuspension of sediments into the water cannot be ruled out, due to dredging processes in regions that disperse pollutants with the tidal flow that previously adhered only to the solid matrix (Frena et al, 2017;Pinheiro et al ., 2017;Ceccopieri et al, 2023).…”

“…Recent studies show that PAHs are a substantial interest in aquatic environments that are influenced by urban areas (BOURGEAULT; GOURLAY-FRANCÉ, 2013) and also in estuarine environments (SANT'ANNA JUNIOR et al, 2010;MIZUKAWA et al, 2015). Due to their extensive environmental distribution and their exposure risk, it became fundamental to identify the main sources of these compounds (BOULOUBASSI et al, 2012).…”
