Distribuição de eventos, danos humanos e materiais relacionados com desastres hidrológicos no Brasil, 2010-2014

Abstract

Introduction: Disasters cause a serious disturbance involving human casualities, material, economic and/or environmental damages. This study aims to describe the distribution of hydrological disasters, its human damage in 2010-2011 and material damage from 2010 to 2014. Methods: This is a descriptive study based on secondary data. For the first stage of this study, the data analyzed were taken from Damage Avaliantion Forms (AVADANs), and concern about hydrological disasters, of the kind gradual and sudden floods, in 2010 and 2011, according to month/season and state/region, and reported human damage (number of affected and dead). Due to small numbers, only the mortality rates for sudden floods were estimated. In the second stage, it was analyzed data related to hydrological disasters of the kind flood, flooding and overflow that occurred in Brazil, from 2010 to 2014, according to state and year of occurrence and material damage reported in the Integrated Disaster Information System (S2iD) of National Secretary of Civil Defense and Emergency Events Database
