Abstract: ObjectiveInflammatory-erosive arthritis is exacerbated by dysfunction of joint-draining popliteal lymphatic vessels (PLVs). Synovial mast cells are known to be pro-inflammatory in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In other settings they have anti-inflammatory and tissue reparative effects.
