Abstract:A series of macrocycles that contain two quinoline oligoamide foldamers (QOFs) using various length of alkyl chains as linkers (2, 3, 6, 8 or 12 hydrocarbons) were synthesized. The two QOFs interact with each other through the linkers and the intramolecular helix chiral communications between the two QOFs were studied by 1 H NMR spectroscopy and crystal structures. Investigations show that the intensity of the intramolecular helix chiral communications between the two QOFs is dependent on the length of the lin… Show more
Aromatic oligoamide foldamers are highlighted as a verstile paltform for developing single-handed foldamers with two aromatic acetenyl groups at the same side. The foldamers with pyrene acetenyl units exhibit red...

Figure-eight (lemniscular) shaped macrocycles, besides their esthetic beauty, often have interesting chiroptical properties. However, only limited figure-eight carbocyclic frameworks have been reported as yet and most of them have been...
The self-assembly of foldamers into macrocycles is a simple approach to non-biological higher-order structure. Previous work on the co-assembly of ortho-phenylene foldamers with rod-shaped linkers has shown that folding and...
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
