“…In an MEG study, Furlong et al [2004] examined the temporal patterns of swallowing activation through time-frequency plots using wavelet analysis and showed ERD bilaterally in the sensorimotor cortex in the beta frequency band during human swallowing with a marked reduction of the ERD at the beginning of the volitional swallowing phase [Furlong et al, 2004].
