Dissipation kinetics and residues of triazolopyrimidine herbicides flumetsulam and florasulam in corn ecosystem

Abstract: The dynamic and residues of florasulam and flumetsulam in corn field ecosystem were investigated using quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) procedure with high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). The limits of quantification (LOQs) of the proposed method ranged from 0.005 to 0.01 mg/kg. Mean recoveries and relative standard deviations (RSDs) of the two compounds in all samples at three spiking levels ranged 94-110 % and 2.0-9.2 %, respectively. Florasu… Show more

“…Jackson et al (2000) showed that florasulam was readily desorbed in aqueous solution and that longer half‐lives were apparent in drier soils. Zhong et al (2015) reported that high temperature and rainfall contributed to the rapid dissipation of florasulam. The half‐life of florasulam at 15% soil moisture ( t 1/2 = 57.8 d) was approximately five times longer than that at 90% soil moisture ( t 1/2 = 10.7 d), indicating that soil moisture plays an important role in florasulam degradation.…”

“…Three days after application, the stems of wheat and rice began to show albinism, resulting in severe chemical injury. It was initially speculated that compounds ( Rac )- 6q and ( S )- 6q contained triazole functional groups, which had strong internal absorption, and wheat roots were multicut and developed, which were important causes of pesticide injury. , At the same time, compounds ( Rac )-BF, ( S )-BF, ( Rac )- 6h , and ( S )- 6h did not injure wheat, which also verified that ( Rac )-BF and ( S )-BF were mainly used for weeding wheat fields . Therefore, compounds ( Rac )-BF, ( Rac )- 6h , and ( Rac )- 6q had higher selectivity than the S configuration for six crops.…”

“…9 Additionally, triazolopyrimidines are used as chemical intermediates in organic reactions. 10 Figure 1 shows a few examples of triazolopyrimidines, together with their respective biological properties: (a) Trapidil ® , a vasodilator and antiplatelet drug, 11 (b) DSM331, an antimalarial agent, 4 (c) Flumetsulam ® , a herbicide, 12 and (d) an antibacterial 1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine. 5…”
