Dissimilar Joint Welding Through Friction Stir Techniques: Mechanical and Microstructural Properties of AA2198-T8 & AA2024-T3

Abstract: Friction stir welding is used to evaluate the metallurgical and material characteristics of AA2198-T8 and AA2024-T3 welds. One of the most often utilised high-strength aluminium alloys in the aerospace industry is AA2024-Tx. The latest generation of aluminium lithium alloys, AA2198-T8, just replaced AA2024-T3.
