“…Systemic involvement may be seen in the form of warty friable lesions of skin, urethra, anus and penis [1]. A case of disseminated rhinosporidiosis with cutaneous, laryngeal and nasopharyngeal involvement has also been reported from India [15]. Another disseminated case of nasopharyngeal rhinosporidiosis in a 48-yearold man with a six-month history of six subcutaneous swellings on the body, and a five-year history of a pea- sized swelling on the inner aspect of the lower eyelid, a rarely known clinical presentation of the disease, has also been reported from Mumbai in Western India [16].…”

In the present case, the patient presented at a slightly older age than described in the literature, and the presence of a solitary ulcer with a crusted border, over the right ear lobule, created a diagnostic dilemma, especially against a background of previous treatment for leprosy.…”

“…Rhinosporidiosis, caused by Rhinosporidium seeberi, manifests as a chronic mucocutaneous infection of the nose with multiple friable vascular lesions. 1 R. seeberi was postulated to be a fungus associated with the genera Synchytrium and Colletotrichum, but this classification is contentious. 2…”
