“…Jefferson-Jones 2015; Saulwick 2016), presenting policy makers with a multitude of models to consider. Given the diverse policy options and the complexity of Australia's urban housing markets (Pawson and Herath 2015), it is critical that local policy responses are informed by contextual, place-specific analysis of Airbnb's impact. This project addresses this knowledge gap by providing a mixed-method study of Airbnb's impact on housing opportunity in private housing markets in Sydney and Melbourne.…”

Neither is there some common understanding on the criteria to be applied in delineating such areas.…”

“…Set against this background, the primary objective of this paper is to provide a better understanding of urban policy initiatives using evidence drawn from a context where such initiatives are already well-established practice. We have taken a specific look at the distribution of urban policy funds in Germany and tried to find linkages with so-called geographies of disadvantage (Pawson & Herath 2015). In so doing, we identified variables that can be used to characterise territorial structural weakness, and then employed the technique of geographically weighted regression to explore their linkages with the spatial distribution of funds from the urban development support scheme (Städtebauförderung).…”

“…Clusters of deprived people and poor neighbourhoods are concentrated in fringe suburban areas….There is evidence that the disadvantaged living conditions are being passed from one generation to the next (Pawson & Herath, 2013).…”
