Abstract: Objective. Leflunomide, a potent diseasemodifying antirheumatic drug of the isoxazole class, exhibits antiinflammatory, antiproliferative, and immunosuppressive effects by largely unknown mechanisms, although alterations of pyrimidine synthesis have been proposed.
