“…Many studies apply seismic loading either utilising input motion recorded during real earthquakes (e.g. Pérez-Herreros et al 2018) or idealised sinusoidal motion, however Yao et al (2018) have created an experimental apparatus to directly model the movement of a fault and used this to investigate the effect this has on piles close to and within the fault zone. This work also uses laser displacement transducers to measure the movement of the pile head and presents a good comparison between these measurements and those obtained from DIC.…”
