“…PVA/PVP (1:1) blends showed good charge storage capacity and good sensitivity for dopant additions . Several researchers studied the properties of PVA/PVP blends doped with azo dyes, inorganic salts, and nano‐particles . A 4:1 blend of PVA/PVP doped with semiconducting silver sulfide particles produced a small band‐gap composite…”

“…This decrease in the value of bulk conductivity with an increase in dopant concentration is due to reduction in the concentration of available ions for conduction or transportation. This is due to interaction between the dopant (CdCl 2 ) and the polymer molecules (PVA/PVAc-PVP), there is a reduction of Cd 2+ ions into Cd atoms; because of this, there are selfgrown nano-structures and micro-structures formed in the sample, followed by a percolation threshold at lower, moderate and higher dopant levels, respectively, of CdCl 2 in the polymeric blend; this has been observed from DC electrical measurements as well as dispersion parameters (from optical studies) [58,59]. In figure 11d, larger values of dielectric constant and dielectric loss are observed for 0.5 and 2.2 wt% samples; it is in these samples that Cd nano-spheres and Cd nano-rods are found; here, the polarization of O − , H + , Cd 2+ and Cl − ions increase the interface area and so, there are more number of available charge carriers at low frequencies.…”

“…NVP products are of great industrial importance as they can have various applications, most importantly, in biomedical sectors and cosmetic industry. The solubility of this polymer in both aqueous and non-aqueous media, its excellent bio-tolerance is what makes this material one of the most prominent chemicals in bio-related applications [ 20 , 21 , 22 , 23 , 24 , 25 , 26 ].…”
