Disparities in healthcare access and utilization among people living with HIV in China: A scoping review and meta‐analysis

Abstract: BackgroundThis review aims to assess the status of healthcare disparities among people living with HIV (PLWH) in China and summarize the factors that drive them.MethodsWe searched PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Scopus, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and China Wanfang for studies published in English or Chinese. “…Another study further demonstrated that, in addition to overall economic conditions, factors, such as the urbanization rate and population density, are closely correlated with HIV/AIDS incidence [ 33 ]. Furthermore, several other studies on the access of people living with HIV/AIDS to health care services have shown that the accessibility of medical services [ 34 ] and individual-level economic conditions [ 35 , 36 ] also impact HIV/AIDS incidence, and this situation can be improved if the government continues to increase public health expenditure [ 37 ].
