Dismenorrea primaria: visión actual

Abstract: Con el adelanto alcanzado en el conocimiento de todos los aspectos relacionados con la dismenorrea primaria, hoy día se dispone de sustancias y esquemas de tratamiento farmacológico, encaminados a aliviar e incluso prevenir las manifestaciones dolorosas que genera esta condición femenina. Esta patología presenta alta prevalencia y recurrencia en las mujeres; incluso se estima que por lo menos 60% de las mujeres ha sufrido un episodio de dolor (ya sea pélvico, cefálico) en los días del sangrado menstrual (1) , y de ellas entre 10 y 15% presentan cuadros severos de dolor (2) .
