Abstract:A physically‐based constitutive modeling framework is proposed for the cyclic deformation and softening of Ni‐based superalloys. The constitutive model accounts for underlying mechanisms of grain size strengthening, dislocation strengthening, solid solution strengthening, and precipitate strengthening, commonly observed in these alloys. A constitutive model is proposed for the shearing of precipitates on their interaction with glide dislocations during cyclic deformation. This is the primary contributor to the… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
