Discussion. Notes on Railway Appliances at the Philadelphia Exhibition of 1876.

Abstract: Mr. ALEXANDER SIEMENS observed that in America the mode of communication between passengers and the engine was a small cord connected with a bell on the locomotive. The plan was simple, and might, he thought, be adopted on English railways instead of the telegraphic appliances.
