theoretical result, the scatter of the data being less than ±10 percent in a wide range of variables.The data collected in WAPD-188 at 1000 and 2000 psia were correlated within ±20 percent. Considering the disagreement between the different sets of data in this report, we conclude that the usefulness of the method has been demonstrated.Comparisons with the CISE data at 70 kg/em 2 revealed that about 70 percent of the data were correlated within ±10 percent. The remaining 30 percent of the data showed burnout values up to several hundred percent too low. We suggest that hydrodynamic loop instabilities may have caused the low burnout values, and excluding these points from the present discussion, we conclude that also in the case of the CISE data satisfactory agreement exists between experimental results and the correlation.Finally we conclude that the accuracy of the correlation can be improved appreciably in the high pressure region when additional and more reliable burnout data have been obtained.
