Discovery of the youngest sex chromosomes reveals first case of convergent co-option of ancestral autosomes in turtles

Abstract: Most turtle species possess temperature-dependent sex determination (TSD), but genotypic sex determination (GSD) has evolved multiple times independently from the TSD ancestral condition.
