Abstract. QoS-aware service composition is a key requirement in Service Oriented Computing (SOC) since it enables fulfilling complex user tasks while meeting Quality of Service (QoS) constraints. A challenging issue towards this purpose is the selection of the best set of services to compose, meeting global QoS constraints imposed by the user, which is known to be a NP-hard problem. This challenge becomes even more relevant when it is considered in the context of dynamic service environments. Indeed, two specific issues arise. First, required tasks are fulfilled on the fly, thus the time available for services' selection and composition is limited. Second, service compositions have to be adaptive so that they can cope with changing conditions of the environment. In this paper, we present an efficient service selection algorithm that provides the appropriate ground for QoS-aware composition in dynamic service environments. Our algorithm is formed as a guided heuristic. The paper also presents a set of experiments conducted to evaluate the efficiency of our algorithm, which shows its timeliness and optimality.

Abstract-Web service is an implementation of Service Oriented Architecture. It is interoperable, loosely coupled through the components over the internet, and widely used by the consumers. A web service interface is written in WSDL. To understand about the details of a web service consumer uses it description. This description is in structural and non-structural form. The structural description tells the consumer what a service look like, whereas non-structural description helps to understand about the functionalities of the web services. The number of web services in public web service directories are decreasing day by day then the numbers of web services crawled by the search engines. Moreover many public web service that don't have their descriptions and it is also alarming that a large percentage do not contains more then 1K words in their descriptions. To understand a web service there may be other related web pages over the World Wide Web that contains the information about the service. In this paper, the non structural descriptions of a web service are focused. We have tried to search the information about a web service by passing different set of queries to the search engines. The related pages that are collected from the www are ranked, this result is shown to the consumer after filtering at a specific threshold value.Index Terms-WSDL, web services, public web services, web services descriptions.

Abstract:The Web services model has emerged as a standard for representation, discovery, and invocation of services in a distributed environment. During service composition, Selection of appropriate services for composition is the chief task. A series of tasks are tied together to form a composite web service. Such composition is a challenging task because a number of Web services with the same or similar functions are increasing rapidly. QoS plays a vital role in the problem of selecting the most appropriate web service for composition. It is a measure for how well the composite web service serves the requester. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm and Gravitational Search Algorithm can be used to resolve this problem of optimal service selection. To compose individual web services dynamically according to users" requirements in functional aspects as well as in non-functional preferences. In order to meet the QoS requirements of consumers, this paper presents the QoS calculation of non-functional requirements such as cost, availability, reliability and execution time. To verify the effectiveness in latency of Web Services selection the above two algorithms are compared. Results indicate the Gravitational Search Algorithm improves the latency over the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm.
