Abstract:Discontinuous precipitation in a two-phase Zn-rich Zn± 6.3 at.% Ag alloy has been studied. It has been shown that the Z 0 =e interphase boundaries have the ability to initiate discontinuous precipitation as do the Z 0 =Z 0 grain boundaries. The back-polishing method is used to show the interconnection between a discontinuous precipitate colony and the Z 0 =e interphase boundary. The reaction front velocity of discontinuous precipitation initiated at the Z 0 =Z 0 grain boundary is 12± 90% higher than that of di… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
