Disclosed dielectric and electromechanical properties of hydrogenated nitrile–butadiene dielectric elastomer

Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive study of the effects of acrylonitrile content, crosslink density and plasticization on the dielectric and electromechanical performances of hydrogenated nitrile–butadiene dielectric elastomer. It was found that by increasing the acrylonitrile content of hydrogenated nitrile–butadiene dielectric elastomer, the dielectric constant will be improved accompanied with a sharp decrease of electrical breakdown strength leading to a small actuated strain. At a fixed electric field, a… Show more

“…Meanwhile, the increase in the dielectric constant of the SR/ATH/AlN-VTMS composites could rationalized as follows: the introduction of VTMS not only strengthens the filler-rubber interactions but also raises the composite crosslinking density, which results in lower free volume. Such a decrease in the free volume of the SR composites should lead to an increase in the dielectric constant, which has also been reported previously [28][29][30].…”

“…This is mainly because the low molecular plasticizer weakens the force of the molecular chain. 42 When more plasticizer is added into the composites, the elongation at break largely increases. The low molecular plasticizer improves the distance between molecular chains, uidity, and soness of BT-KH570/BIIR composites.…”

“…Three hydrogenated acrylonitrile–butadiene rubbers with nitrile contents of 25%, 36%, and 44% were evaluated as dielectrics in DEA . Films with a thickness of 0.15 mm were processed by melt‐pressing at 170 °C and then crosslinked by DCP.…”
