“…23,24 In Brazil, the possibility of treating and caring for MS patients in an outpatient setting has been carried out through the work of professionals from the Care Program in accordance with the principles of the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform. 25 In 2000, the General Court of Justice of Minas Gerais, Brazil, implemented the pilot project, in which the defendant or convicted person suffering from mental illness, with ongoing lawsuits in the criminal courts of the district of Belo Horizonte, was accompanied to perform mediation between treatment and the legal process, until their social reinsertion was possible.
