Abstract:Directional emission of electromagnetic waves plays an essential role in laser radar and free-space communication. For most directional antennas, bandwidth and miniaturization are a pair of contradictions due to their underlying interference mechanism. Connection-type metamaterials exhibit exotic electromagnetic response near zero-frequency, which relies on the global topology of mesh connectivity rather than resonance and thus has a broad working bandwidth. In this Letter, we investigate the broadband orienta… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
