Directional correlations of gamma-ray cascades in ¹⁰³Rh

Abstract

The directional correlations of the 557-53-keV and the 444-53-keV gamma-ray cascades observed in the decay of '03Ru have been studied. Dilute liquid sources (RuCI, in HCI) of varying activity and of predetermined correlation times 7, were used. The unperturbed angular correlation functions were evaluated to be: 557-53 keV W(0) = 1 + (-0.1310 f 0.0140)P2(cos 0) + (-0.046 f 0.050)P4(cos 0) Spins and parities of the 650-and 537-keV levels of '03Rh deduced from the analysis of the experimental data and consistent with the restriction of the 53-keV gamma as an MI transition, indicated by internal conversion coefficient results, are discussed.
