“…Our estimates are aligned with the outcomes of several studies conducted in other countries including the US, Canada, Belgium, the United Kingdom (UK), Italy, and Jordan, which showed a strong correlation between disease stage and total cost of treatment; patients with more advanced disease require more intensive treatment and use more healthcare resources than patients with early-stage disease [ 9 , 10 , 19 , 20 , 21 ]. The availability of costing data per cancer stage is crucial for assessing the value of potential breast cancer treatment and prevention programs.…”

“…Despite significant advances in breast cancer management in recent years, the incidence and mortality rates of this disease are still increasing in developed and developing countries; this has led to a significant increase in global patient-related healthcare costs [ 16 ] and has imposed a great economic burden on health care systems and communities [ 35 ]. The aim of the present study was to determine the economic burden of breast cancer in the patients referred to medical centers in Fars province in southern Iran in 2021.…”

“…For instance, in the Kingdom of Jordan, the incidence and mortality rates of cancer are rapidly increasing; between 2000 and 2013, the average crude cancer incidence rate in Jordan was 82.8/100 000 population,5 while in 2016, the crude incidence rate increased to 87.2/100 000 population 6. In addition, the treatment costs of some cancer types, such as breast cancer, surged significantly in the late disease stages in Jordan 7 8…”
