“…4 As a result, accurate and highly sensitive sensors of trace Hg 2+ are in high demand. Various methods have been reported for the detection of Hg 2+ in the ng L À1 range, among which atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), 5,6 atomic uorescence spectrometry (AFS), [7][8][9] and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) 10,11 are popular methods. However, these methods require very expensive, complex and bulky instrumentation.…”

“…17 Thus, the health and environmental issues associated with Hg 2+ has stimulated researchers to develop inexpensive, effective and reliable methods for the detection and determination of Hg 2+ sensitively and selectively. 5,7,8,17,18 Attempts have been made to determine Hg in the environmental, 18 geological, 19 food 20,21 and biomedical 22,23 samples. Majority of the analytical methods proposed for the determination of Hg are based on the sophisticated techniques viz.…”

“…Majority of the analytical methods proposed for the determination of Hg are based on the sophisticated techniques viz. cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry (CV-AAS), [23][24][25] inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), 26,27 atomic uorescence spectrometry (AFS), 28,29 anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV), [30][31][32] high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), 33,34 etc. All these techniques require expensive instrumentation, pre-concentration for the enrichment of analyte and its separation from the other constituents of the sample to minimize the matrix effect prior to their application.…”

“…93 Based on simple flow-injection amperometric detection, we found the developed method for the analysis of glucose, [94][95][96] cotinine, 97 tumor biomarkers 98 and acetylcholine. 99 In addition, the combination between the flow-based system and AAS, HPLC, ICP-MS was proposed for the determination of urinary metals, 100 mercury, 101 procainamide, 102 multi-elements in human serum 103 and metabolites in biological organisms. 104 The last is using the concept of a lateral flow assay for the determination of HIV-1 DNA, 105 thyroid-stimulating hormone, 106 DNA quantification for phenylketonuria diagnostic, 107 C-reactive protein, 108,109 exosomes, 110 and a scrub typhus biomarker.…”
