Direct detection transmission of a PAM signal with power fading mitigation based on Alamouti coding and dual-drive MZM

Abstract: Power-fading impairment induced by fiber dispersion and photodiode detection imposes a fundamental limitation on the intensity-modulation direct-detection (IM-DD) transmission systems.
