Direct conversion 2.4-GHz receiver front end design for wireless applications

Abstract

I have come a long way in my research towards this thesis since I picked up my first RFIC design book, and I could not have reached this stage without the generous support of several mentors and friends. First and foremost I would like to acknowledge the help of my two principal mentors, my supervisor, Prof. Zhang Yue Ping and my father, Prof. Do Manh Anh. Both professors provided useful advice and insights drawn from their own experience in the communications area. Among my mentors I would also like to thank Prof. Ma Jian Guo for enduring the brunt of the endless and often repetitive questions I posed. I cannot overemphasize my thanks to Ms. (soon to be Dr.) Jia Lin who solved countless problems which arose throughout my research and allowed me to use her VCO design in my project.
