Abstract:A practical and effective palladium-catalyzed C–H activation/alkene insertion/annulation between cyclic 1,3-diketones or 1,3-indandione and diverse alkenes is reported for the production of furans and cyclopropanes in moderate to good yields.
A palladium-catalyzed coupling reaction has been developed for the synthesis of quaternary alkyl products through the reaction of olefins with diversely functionalized 1,3-dicarbonyls.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
