Diosmin Treats Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammatory Pain and Peritonitis by Blocking NF-κB Activation in Mice

Abstract: Gram-negative bacterial infections induce inflammation and pain. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is a pathogen-associated molecular pattern and the major constituent of Gram-negative bacterial cell walls. Diosmin is a citrus flavonoid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Here we investigated the efficacy of diosmin in a nonsterile model of inflammatory pain and peritonitis induced by LPS. Diosmin reduced in a dose-dependent manner LPS-induced inflammatory mechanical hyperalgesia, thermal hyperalgesia, a… Show more

“…Treating arthritic rats with diosmin and/or trolox resulted in a considerable reduction in serum TNF-α and IL-17, and a significant elevation in serum IL-13, relative to the arthritic control rat. These results agree with previous reports demonstrating the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of diosmin by inhibiting TNF-α and suppressing the activation of NF-κB [ 62 , 63 ]. The mixture of diosmin and trolox had the most potent effect, which may be due to the synergistic effects of treatment agents.…”

“…In the studied preparations, the most exciting fact is that many such variants of the interposition of NBTpositive phagocytes and phagocytes containing cationic proteins are visualized, suggesting that these cells can interact during phagocytosis (Barillet et al 2019). If assume that such cooperation has a certain vector of development, then it most likely looks like this (Fattori et al 2020). Initially, the NBT-positive phagocyte and the phagocyte containing cationic proteins converge on their cell membranes (Fig.…”

“…And from the point of ultrasonic kidney index, separate application ulinastatin and diosmin to improve the function of the kidney index has no obvious difference, but the combined use of more can signi cantly improve renal artery blood ow velocity, reduce the resistance and so on, is mainly due to the diosmin can: prolonged to adrenal hormone in the venous wall, improve the vein tension, promoting venous return [19] ; Increase the red blood cell ow rate, lead to the decrease of blood viscosity, prevent capillary blockage [20] ; It can inhibit the release of in ammatory transmitters in the body, reduce local in ammatory reaction, reduce damage to local capillaries, and maintain their permeability [21] . Through these mechanisms, the circulation of local blood and lymphatic uid is promoted, which is manifested as the improvement of renal ultrasound indexes.…”
