Dinuclear Copper(II) Complexes with Schiff Bases Derived from 2-Hydroxy-5-Methylisophthalaldehyde and Histamine or 2-(2-Aminoethyl)pyridine and Their Application as Magnetic and Fluorescent Materials in Thin Film Deposition

Abstract: Two Cu(II) complexes, 1 and 2, with tridentate Schiff bases derived from 2-hydroxy-5-methylisophthalaldehyde and histamine HL1 or 2-(2-aminoethyl)pyridine HL2, respectively, were obtained and characterized by X-ray crystallography, spectroscopic (UV-vis, fluorescence, IR, and EPR), magnetic, and thermal methods. Despite the fact that the chelate formed by the NNO ligand donors (C26-C25H2-C24H2-N23=C23H-C22-C19Ph(O1)-C2(Ph)-C3H=N3-C4H2-C5H2-C6 fragment) are identical, as well as the synthesis of Cu(II) … Show more

“…The same was observed previously by us in the case of copper(II) complexes lms. 23,24 Moreover, the use of the PS in materials can constrained the molecular motion in a solid matrix to reduce the possibility of a non-radiative decay process of their excited states and affect the uorescence. 8 In some cases, round structures on the surface were noted.…”

“…chemical vapor deposition, Langmuir Blodgett, or spin and dip coating. 5,[23][24][25][26] Apart from the low cost of the synthesized compounds also the low cost and fast deposition methods are looking for. As far as we know spin coating can be used as a technique which allows for the fast deposition of the thin luminescence lms, so we chose this method as the most sufficient to get the desired materials.…”

“…The last one seems to be the most detailed, and it is precisely this that we will try to implement in the course of our narrative. As it should be expected, a priori, most of the publications in this direction are devoted to organic compounds, and primarily organic molecules; these include, with varying degrees of correctness, publications [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 102 , 103 , 104 , 106 , 108 , 112 , 117 , 118 , 119 , 121 , 124 , 127 , 128 , 130 , 131 , 132 , 133 , 135 , 138 , 139 , 140 , 141 , 142 , 143 , 144 , 146 , 147 , 148 , 151 , 153 , 154 , 156 , 157 , 164 , 165 , 166 , 168 , 171 , 172 , 174 , 176 , 178 , 180 , 183 , 185 , 186 ]. Much less space is occupied by the works related to polymeric (in fact, to a high molecular weight) compounds [ 113 , …”
