Dimuon events produced in high energy antineutrino interactions observed in BEBC

Abstract: A study is presented of dimuon events from an exposure of BEBC to a wide band v beam from the CERN SPS. Thèse data double th e available statistics on v induced dilepton events observed in bubble ch ambers. Th e relative production rate and v" yield h ave been measured and found to agrée with previous experiments. Th e analysis of several kinematical vari ables shows th at th e gros features of th e data agrée with th e prédictions of th e GIM model. Some indication exists th at part of th e signal could be du… Show more

“…-measurements of neutrino cross sections [52] -oscillation experiments [53] -dimuons [54] -beam-dump [55] • Conversi (1976) The hybrid experiment of Conversi at CERN consisted of an emulsion target, followed by a bubble chamber and various electronic detector. The experiment ran in the CERN wide band PS neutrino beam and observed in emulsion the decay of charmed hadrons, providing the first measurements of lifetimes for neutral and charged D particles [11,12].…”
