Digitalization of agriculture as a “response” to the challenges of the modern times

Abstract

The article is devoted to one of the most current problems of the agricultural sector development – the problem of digitalization of agriculture and the related process of introducing information and communication technologies into the field of agricultural production and distribution. The digitalization of the agrarian sector is considered by the authors as a kind of “response” to the three main challenges of modern times – demographic, ecological and socio-economic. Based on the results of scientific research, the article describes the current realities and immediate prospects of the digital agricultural revolution taking place in the world.
