This study presents a conceptual overview of technological sovereignty and guide an exploratory analysis of documents retrieved from bibliographic and patent research databases. Considering the number of studies published on the subject, this study is justified because it presents a conceptual overview of technological sovereignty. Study steps: research design; bibliographical research in the Scopus database to map the scientific literature; patent search in Lens database for patent mapping; obtaining and analyzing the co-occurrence networks of keywords, co-occurrence of cited references and co-occurrence of patent classification codes. The study presents a conceptual space about technological sovereignty including digital and data sovereignty. This space reveals that current issues such as privacy, general data protection regulation, internet of things, cyberspace, among others, allow for more comprehensive exploration of the importance of technological sovereignty. This study contributes to the elaboration of a conceptual overview about technological sovereignty and an indication of an approach to collect and analyze information about sovereignty critical issues. The main contribution is to point out methods to analyze critical aspects of technological sovereignty in a specific domain, including: mapping of scientific literature and patent analysis.
