A great number of virtual museums exhibit archaeological artefacts in an interactive form using 3D digital models to disseminate them to as many users as possible. Currently, 3D models obtained as a result of scanning museum objects have gained a great popularity. This technique allows to faithfully reproduce objects and to expose artefacts too delicate and precious to be presented in the real world. The aim of this paper is to create a virtual museum in the VR world using 3D models obtained by 3D scanning with structured light. The advantages of optimising mesh models for their use in virtual exhibitions are discussed. Unity and Unreal Engine, were used to create virtual museums in the VR world. Two twin test applications were prepared. This allowed to compare the performance of the developed applications (processor, graphics card and RAM load). A survey was also conducted among the users of the implemented virtual museum application. For immersion in the world of VR, a low-cost solution was used, involving the use of cheap VR frames, a smartphone and a computer. The frames together with the smartphone were used to display the image, while the entire rendering process was performed on the computer.

The integration of computer vision algorithms and photogrammetric methods leads to procedures that increasingly automate the image-based 3D modeling process. The main objective of photogrammetry is to obtain a three-dimensional model using terrestrial or aerial images. Calibration of the camera and detection of the orientation parameters are important for obtaining accurate and reliable 3D models. For this purpose, many methods have been developed in the literature. However, since each method has different mathematical background, calibration results may be different. In this study, the effect of camera interior orientation parameters obtained from different methods on the accuracy of three-dimensional model will be examined. In this context, a test area consisting of 21 points was used. The test network was coordinated in a local coordinate system using geodetic methods. Some points of the test area were selected as the check point and accuracy analysis was performed. Direct Linear Transformation (DLT) method, MATLAB, Agisoft Lens, Photomodeler, 3D Flow Zephyr software were analysed. The lowest error value of 7.7 cm was achieved by modelling with Agisoft Lens.

3D data is the main element of three-dimensional models that are commonly used in many different application areas such as architecture, archeology, medicine, film production, reverse engineering, etc. In this study, we discuss designing and utilizing opportunities for a low-cost triangulation-based laser scanner. To evaluate the system, a test object is specially designed, and the accuracy and operation of the system are verified by comparing the data output of the laser scanner with the terrestrial photogrammetric method. The designed system is also verified using different objects. At the end of the study, we calculate the precision of the scanned sample models to be 0.1-0.2 mm and RMS, 0.59 mm.
