Resumo Objetivo: Estimar a prevalência e fatores associados à atividade sexual desprotegida na população brasileira. Métodos: Estudo transversal com 61.523 adultos, na idade de 18 anos ou mais, participantes da Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde 2019. Foram estimadas as prevalências de atividade sexual desprotegida no último ano. A associação das variáveis socioeconômicas e demográficas com o desfecho foi analisada pela regressão de Poisson, com estimação das razões de prevalência (RPs) e intervalo de confiança de 95% (IC95%). Resultados: A prevalência de atividade sexual desprotegida foi de 76,9% (IC95% 76,3;77,6), maior em todas as macrorregiões nacionais quando comparadas à região Norte, em moradores da zona rural (RP = 1,04; IC95% 1,03;1,06), sexo feminino (RP = 1,06; IC95% 1,05;1,08), idade de 60 anos ou mais (RP = 1,33; IC95% 1,27;1,38), casados (RP = 1,25; IC95% 1,23;1,27) e menos escolarizados (RP = 1,05; IC95% 1,03;1,06). Conclusão: Estratégias direcionadas aos grupos com maior prevalência de atividade sexual desprotegida são necessárias.

Objective to analyze riverside men's knowledge and ways of acting regarding condom use, based on the social representations about the device. Method a qualitative study anchored in the Theory of Social Representations and conducted with 21 riverside men from the São Carlos do Jamari community, Porto Velho, Rondônia, Brazil. Data collection was performed between January and July 2019 by means of an interview with a semi-structured questionnaire. For data processing, the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software was used, obtaining the participants' characterization through descriptive statistics, in addition to IRAMUTEq® for the lexical analysis of the speeches, by means of the Descending Hierarchical Classification, obtaining five thematic classes, among which Class 5 was deepened on in this study. Results the social representations were produced by adult participants, with complete High School, per capita family income of up to one minimum wage, and sexually active with irregular condom use. It was identified that the participants develop a cognitive dimension, which reveals their knowledge about condoms as a form of prevention; however, elements such as interference in pleasure, stable relationship and a negative evaluative dimension result in irregular use of the device and in risky behaviors in their sexual practices. Conclusion social representations are anchored in reified knowledge, in the discourse of the preventive functionality of condoms, and in masculinity stereotypes. Consequently, the riverside men's knowledge is not manifested in their behaviors. Therefore, this social group lacks health promotion actions that enable changes in their care behaviors and practices.

The difficulty of negotiating safe sexual practice, inequality of gender relations (22) , the possibility of use if the partner is steady or not (23) , negative attitudes towards condoms, sexual practice with men (24) , and experience of sexuality allied to the illusion of invulnerability (13) can be factors of non-adherence. In addition, the construction of a neglected pattern in choosing sexual partnerships and the lack of dialogue on the subject with friends, for fear of stereotypes also contributes to a departure from the routines of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment (25) .…”

Objectives: to analyze the knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to sexually transmitted infections of men in prison. Methods: qualitative study, based on the methodology Knowledge, Attitude and Practice, conducted with 30 men in prison. The study applied individual interviews submitted to the analyze of the discourse. Results: the incipient knowledge of men was associated with: self-illness and the others’, diagnosis, and perception of risk behavior, pervaded by distrust or lack of understanding of the rapid test for detection. The attitudes involved culpability of partnerships, non-adherence to prevention inputs, and resistance to look for health services. The practices are linked to health care after the identification of the disease, use of penile condoms, and attention to the partnership. Conclusions: the reduced knowledge about Sexually Transmitted Infections makes attitudes stereotyped, stigmatized, compromised by the level of education. The level of health care and the limits of deprivation of liberty weaken the practices.
