Diffusion metallization of carbide cutting tools as a way to improve the surface treatment quality

Abstract: The application of diffusion nicke-copper coatings on hard alloys leads to an increase in the durability of carbide-tipped cutting tools when machining even hard carbide-containing steels at the high cutting speeds, which improves the productivity of the machining process. The analysis of the influence of deposition of nicke-copper coating by the diffusion metallization from environment of the fusible liquid metal solutions at the resistance of alloy carbide inserts of type WC-Co and TiC-WC-Co, and to the qual… Show more

“…Methods of chemical-thermal treatment are the most promising methods for hardening the surface of products made of high-strength cast iron. Methods of diffusion metallization are widely used among them [1,2,3,4]. Diffusion metallization restores parts with low wear, high surface hardness and working under conditions of friction with a variety of mating materials [5].…”

“…The diamond after being coated on the tungsten carbide (WC) substrate tool material produces a very hard cutting tool. These qualities of diamond coated tungsten carbide (WC) tools produces better results in machining operations (Sein et al, 2003, Bobylyov andStorozhenko, 2019). These self-developed diamond coated tungsten carbide (WC) tools have good surface finish because of which they have good applications (Chandran et al, 2013, Bansal et al, 2021.…”
