Diffusion Mechanism of Slurry during Grouting in a Fractured Aquifer: A Case Study in Chensilou Coal Mine, China

Abstract: Grouting is one of the main technical means to prevent water inrush hazards in coal seam floor aquifers. It is of great significance to elucidate the diffusion law of slurry in the process of grouting in fractured aquifers for safe mining in coal mines. In this paper, the mechanism of slurry diffusion in horizontal fractures of fractured aquifers was studied based on the Bingham slurry with time-varying characteristics; additionally, a one-dimensional seepage grouting theoretical model considering the temporal… Show more

“…The filtration effect in the slurry infiltration process is an essential factor affecting slurry diffusion [15][16][17]. The main research methods include four [18]: a macro model based on macro experimental phenomena, the study of the analysis method of single particle trajectory of suspension, the method of studying congestion through probability, and the mesh model method.…”

“…Based on fractional Brownian motion, Liu Yang et al [2] established a numerical model of rough fracture grouting in rock mass through COMSOL numerical simulation software, and analyzed the influence of slurry viscosity and fracture surface roughness on slurry diffusion. M Zhai [3] studied the mechanism of mud diffusion in horizontal fractures of fractured aquifers by establishing a theoretical model. Zhang Guohua et al [4] described the diffusion law slurry in inclined plane fractures by the finite element method.…”

“…The results showed that the formulas for the grouting parameters always depended upon the roughness and shear movement, which play a key role in grouting. Zhai et al (2022) established a one-dimensional theoretical model of seepage and grouting that considers the temporal and spatial variation in slurry viscosity at a constant grouting rate. Sui et al (2015) investigated the effects of four factors, namely, fracture aperture width, slurry gel time, dynamic water flow rate and grouting volume, on grouting by using the single fracture model in orthogonal tests and summarized the criteria for the plugging effect of grouting.…”
