Difficulties in the vocal fold Teflon granuloma treatment

Abstract

Volume 121 Number 2 Scientific Sessions-Tuesday P159 rectus and oblique bellies, as well as a newly recognized horizontal belly. The external superior laryngeal nerve (ESLN) 9 enters the CT muscle as a single trunk (37.5%, 9/24) or multiple branches (62.5%, 15/24). Two groups of nerve branches were recognized. A large group with 3 to 7 branches supplies the rectus belly, and a small group with l to 3 branches supplies the oblique belly. In almost half of the specimens studied (11/24, 46%), the ESLN also supplies the thyroarytenoid muscle and the subglottic mucosa. Conclusion: These findings provide a baseline to further study the functions of the individual bellies of the human CT muscle and to develop strategies for laryngeal reinnervation.
